Jerry, I am so happy that the stimulator for your spine worked and wish you nothing but further good health. I had 2 stimulators put in and both failed, I have had complete left side sympathectamy, over 90 nerve blocks and a intrathecal pump pump I struggle with pain everyday. I was hurt in a freak accident and now have Reflex Dysthropy syndrome, Chronic pain syndrome, degenerative disc disease and scoliosis so each day is a new hill to climb. I know when you thought of suicide it seems like the only way out and tried it myself and god somehow kept me here and I thank him. Dear mr.Jerry lewis I have been a admire of yours for many yrs and have emailed and corresponded with your son Chris lewis.We both agree that you have been unfairly tagged with labels of ego because people are either jealous of your fame and wealth.We confuse confidence and strength of character in our country with arrogance.I don't know about other people but the martin and lewis tv movie was way off.If anything lewis cared more about their team then martin did at times.if there is anything that lewis can be blamed for and that is that he cares about his beliefs,friends,and family and his career with or without DM.Some people who nail J.L for his telefon and comments he has made in the past about those with md being half people he didn't mean spiritually but there is parts of the human condition that might be lacking for those with md and all he was saying that when you cannot function as others do who don't have the same capacity to function then there is a sense of imcompleteness of the human physicality of living.The fact remains his telefon and the work he does do or not do 365 days of the yr isn't anyones business.He has done more for md and their families and anyone who says he exploits them is blinded with jealousy and selfishness.I don't see any of the families he's help over these past 30 or so yrs complain.I also think the media needs to get off his back.I admire him for his loyalty and talent and his protection of loved ones from that stalker especially his wife and child.The media hits him hard because there jealous of his success and those who cannot act or teach and those who cannot do either insult and sit on judgement of others who can do both equally well.Then again the media is there to exploit the negatives of Mr.Lewis because that's what sells it should be about the good that Mr.lewis does.My father harvey korman introduced me to Jerry lewis in hawaii in 1985 and it was a honor and thrill to meet him.no matter what people say about this living legend is that he has the gift to make those less fortunate then himself have the opportunity to have a better life with his md telefon and his gift to make the human condition stronger and happier with his ability to make children laugh until it hurts.To me those are attributes that should be respected not tarnished by those who love him and those with don't need to admit he has value whether they like it our not-Signed a lifelong fan-and admirer-Christopher Korman

We don’t have any mortgage life insurance protection or any other life insurance. Frannie had been able to earn some money for us during the holidays by playing the keyboard at a local store which has now gone out of business and she hasn’t had any luck getting anyone else to hire her. Dear Jerry: I watched your interview with Katie on the Today show Wednesday-very enjoyable. You spoke and showed a devise that helps youwith your back pain. I tried to read the name on the devise but was unsuccessful. My mother is 89 years old has severe spinal stenosis receives epidural injections, which have worked in the past but not so now-and naturally the doctors want to do back surgery. I have been a fan for years. I somehow feel your comedy is contageous. I feel that Jim Carey is a miraculous combination of Jerry Lewis and Lucile Ball. Anyway, I am sorry you are sick. My father died a few months ago of Pulmonary Fibrosis, OK maybe he didn't die from that - the Prednizone killed him way before the lung disease could have. I wish I knew about the Jewish Respitory Hospital earlier, he could have gone there. His doctor killed him with drugs and the pain is incredible. I hope you feel better, I do not know what you have but my mother thought she heard that you had a Pulmonary problem. In her grief of loosing her husband of 50 years she told me you had the same disease that killed my father. Please take care of yourself and if you have a lung problem go to Colorado NOW. My father died within 4 months, his care was horrible, he was over 70 but very healthy until the drugs killed him!

The paper said you have an implanted spinal stimulator. I hope it offers you much deserved relief. I was involved in an auto-accident in Nov.(1995). Jerry; Somehow, I instinctively know you'll receive and read this message. You called me in Dec. of 2000 after your visit to Portland. I was obviously "flabbergasted", but our 12-minute conversation held a great deal of meaning for me ... it's one I'll never forget. At the end of the conversation, you told me to call your office the next time I planned on being in L.V.; you said we could meet and talk. Dear Mr. Lewis, I am 32 and have been a fan for as long as I can rememeber. You have made me laugh and cry over the years. I am glad to see your MDA telethon is still going strong. I saw a show where you talked about your lung problems and the problems that you were having with the medication you were taking. My mother has Lupus and also takes a medication that makes her face very puffy. I can understand how that and the lung condition could make you fell so depressed that you wnated to die but please know that there are so many people that look up to you and are so very proud of you that all you would have to do is just ask someone for some comfort and I am sure that you would have no problem finding help. Please stay strong and know that you are loved.

Dear Mr Lewis, I have been a fan of yours since I viewed your first early movies as a child in the 50's and I have always admired your work, efforts towards helping those afflicted with the terrible disease of MD(we held an MD backyard carnival long ago as kids to help out and I worked with the crew in Manchester NH as a teenager to help the local channel during a telethon in the 70's). I must admit though I admire you even more for showing such determination and personal courage in combating your ailments while still carrying on with your work. In all honesty, I never have been too much of a fan of your works in the distant past. But, I can tell you that I have watched every telethon as far back as I can remember. There are many individuals who seem to condemn you for your work...they are idiots!!!! I am not trying to get a hand out, but perhaps some kind of business venture where we both can make money. I have been interested in vehicle security since 1997. I get sick when I hear of peoples property stolen , damaged , and even lives lost from such a preventable problem as car theft. I have looked at many vehicle security devices and there weakness, and endeavored to build a device that is easy to install and also user friendly, and very difficult to remove. I have built prototypes, and have used one on my vehicle for three years even in big cities, and always felt comfortable that my car would always be there where I parked it. I also installed one on an old truck in an auto wreaker and it took three big men 4min. 56 seconds to remove it, only by braking the floorboard because of too ridged a base. This has since been redesigned to be flexible. It was encouraging to see one person could not remove it. It is loose enough installed, that it cannot be cut with a hacksaw, since it is made with good strong steel. The lock cannot be frozen because it is incased with steel and a small air space. These men ! tried with hammers and feet to remove it and only exhausted themselves. Since joy rides and theft of vehicles for the purpose of committing a crime are the main reasons for general auto theft, I know this will be a very good and secure type of vehicle theft deterrent. I have a U.S. patent and applied for an international patent with the help of a company in Ireland, who have done up for me a confidential research report, on North America, and Europe and are at this time trying to find manufactures all around the world that would be interested in building this device that I call "Brake Lock. There is some simple electronics that serve as a trade mark, as well as takes care of the brake light problem. I recently have had interest from England and Illinois and hope to get a positive response from them. Auto theft is a huge problem everywhere. I know it will make a difference. But it will only make a difference if people will use it. I am a historian specializing in the history of Henry Kaiser and also of the Kaiser Permanente Medical Care Program. One of Henry Kaiser's achievements was the founding of the Kabat-Kaiser Rehabilitation Institute in Vallejo and Santa Monica, CA and in Washington, DC. (Now known as the Kaiser Permanente Rehabilitation Institute.)
While going through some old papers, I came across a mention of a donation to the Institute 48 years ago today (8/27/53) from Mr. Lewis. It was for five patient lifting devices valued at the time at $1,000 dollars.
I am interested in this because it may well have been one of his first involvements with the disabled and am curious if he remembers what encouraged him to make such a donation to the Kaiser Institute.

On March 31, 2001 at around 2 a.m., my brother was doing something he had no business doing. After running from police officers he attempted to hide in someone’s backyard. The police found him, handcuffed him and tied his feet together. Witnesses heard my brother telling the police officers that he was down and had surrendered. Then witnesses watched as the police picked up my brother, moving him to the back of the house, where they then proceeded to beat him until he was dead.
The American Civil Liberties Union, ACLU, has not decided whether or not to take this case-their main concern being they might not get back the court costs. I will never get my brother back. I am asking you to please help with a donation to contribute to the cost of a lawsuit against the City of Austin and the eight police officers who took my brother’s life.

Dear Mr. Lewis I had a rather sad childhool. I lived in a three room apartment in Chicago with my Mom, Dad and older brother. There were no children nearby for me to play with. I had some health problems and an over protective mother. I spent my summer vacactions alone playing with my dolls. I had a duodenal ulcer at the age of seven. You were on tv on Sundays , I think every other Sunday and I used to wait to watch you because you made me laugh. You gave me joy. I loved your movies. I have followed your career all these years. I am now 53 years old, married and have grandchildren and a lovely house. Life is full but I have never forgotten that you made me laugh at a time in my life when I was so alone. Dear Jerry Lewis: I am very fond of your acting and its subjects. I am a foreign student in your country, I am studying at Drexel University, Philadelphia in a MS program in computer science. I am very embarrassed to writing you for seeking a help, but I have no other way to provide my educational costs. Yes, I know that a foreign student is expected to pay his all expenses by his own. But at present my financial condition is not as good as it was expected, tremendous inflation make my foreign exchange inadequate for fulfilling my all needs in US. I applied for an institutional aid (no govt. scholarship for foreign students though) and I thought I would get one. I thought my money, aid and on campus job would be the sources of fund of my education in USA. But it did not work out that way. I did not get any fund from school and did not get any on campus job. My own money is not sufficient for a quarter even.
I am in real hardship. I can't look for a job, that is illegal with my current status. Please..please either help me finding a H1 visa provider to change my status or help me to get some money as a loan, you have to be a co-signer to get this loan. I am not misquoting, I am truly an honest man and I am telling you I will pay the loan back when I become established.
I have a plan to create funds for foreign students who are suffering like me. I am also requesting you to donate some and tell others to donate. I am not telling you to give me all or most of your money. Rather I am telling you to donate me from the savings of your daily expenditure. Suppose for today if you smoke or drink less than your usual, you can save money and can donate your savings. Remember, both smoking and drinking are addictive and injurious to health. If you go to a restaurant, take at least one item less than your usual, then you can donate me the value of that food. You know what...in USA, in a single lunch or dinner, only one single person on average wastes what amount of food, in my country a full family can live on that easily for a whole day. So, don't waste...take some blessing from these poor students.
I hope to get your help because this money is for my education. I don't do drugs, don't smoke and drink and I do not go out with friends as I can't afford that.
